On Friday, October 18th, The Human Bean raised $306,618.98 during their “Coffee for a Cure’ donation event. All 96 Human Bean locations in 11 states participated in this annual event. One hundred percent of proceeds from beverage and food sales were donated locally by each location to local breast cancer care centers of the owners’ choice.
Over the past 14 years The Human Bean has raised over $1,854,269.38 to help fight breast cancer. They work directly with local foundations who allocate the funds to help the patients that need help the most; uninsured or under-insured. Since starting the donation day how the funds are used is beginning to change. More people are insured, getting early detection and surviving the disease. They also now support patients with expenses while going through treatment and help with a lot more preventive scans for early detection and education.
The Medford, Oregon based company currently has 96 locations in 11 states. Of these locations, 83 are franchised and 13 are corporately owned. Truly, this day represents the core of what The Human Bean is about, giving back and supporting their own communities.
