NORTHERN COLORADO – For the tenth year in a row, The Human Bean came out strong in its continued efforts to help local women fight breast cancer with its annual Coffee for a Cure event on Friday, October 23. On that day, the three Fort Collins locations (which includes the new Human Bean Coffee Truck) donated 100 percent of sales made from 5 a.m. – 10 p.m. to the Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies Oncology Patient and Family Support Fund. On November 17, The Human Bean was proud to present Poudre Valley Hospital with a check for $15,048.

All seven northern Colorado Human Bean locations participated in the Coffee for a Cure event. Collectively, they raised $40,048 for local cancer projects. The money raised by the four Weld County stands will be donated to North Colorado Medical Center Breast Cancer Fund.

During the Coffee for a Cure event, each of The Human Bean locations were aided by nurses and hospital employees as Guest Baristas beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Customers had the opportunity to talk to the Guest Baristas about the program’s benefits and how the money will be used.

The Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies Oncology Patient and Family Support Fund helps women with breast cancer pay for basic needs after diagnosis including insurance premiums, prescriptions, co-pays for office visits/procedures and more.
