Cold Brew is quite the buzz word these days. You’ve probably tried it. And if you have, you probably love it. But what exactly is it? And how is it made? Here’s everything you need to know about Cold Brew!
It’s Brewed in Cold Water
Hence the name. Cold brew coffee is actually steeped in room temperature or chilled water and never touches hot water. This causes a much slower flavor extraction which contributes to the smooth flavor of cold brew coffee.
It Takes at Least 12 Hours to Make
Cold brew coffee is made by steeping coarse ground coffee in large paper coffee filters in water for 12-18 hours and then diluted to taste with water. We make fresh batches over night so they are ready to be served each morning!
You won’t find our cold brew in a can. It’s handcrafted by our own baristas to ensure it’s fresh! That’s why there is limited availability based on what we make each day. Come get it while it’s hot! Errr….cold, we mean.
It’s not the same as Iced Coffee
Iced coffee is essentially normally brewed coffee that is chilled and then poured over ice. It still has the same flavor as hot coffee and might taste more acidic or even bitter compared to cold brew coffee.
