The Human Bean is partnering with the Assistance League of Greeley in February!

Assistance League of Greeley aspires to meet the challenging need of individuals through community- based philanthropic programs in the city of Greeley and Weld County. Assistance League has a few programs under its umbrella, including Operation School Bell, Warm up Weld County, Assault Survivor Kits, File of Life, and Color Me Weld. AL also has a thrift shop called Assistance League Bargain Box located at 1706 9th St, Greeley, CO 80631, where they happily accept donations of lightly used goods.

To support the Color Me Weld Program, we will be hosting a coloring book and crayon drive for children of all ages. Starting February 5 through February 11, these items will assist emergency staff at the hospital in times of trauma when supplying coloring and activity books, along with crayons or colored pencils. For every new coloring book or set of crayons (markers and coloring pencils are welcomed too!), customers will receive a punch on their punch card (up to 10 punches).

Sad as it seems, many children fall victims to violent crimes, and AL’s mission is to help these kids by way of diversion. While waiting in the hospital emergency room for treatment or other necessary observations, children are given a coloring book and crayons to help them focus on something other than the trauma they recently endured. source tracking
